This is the 13th book in the China Bayles series. China's adopted son discovers a skeleton while at an archeological dig. However, the bones are much more recent than the dig. China is dealing with some economic and staffing issues with the tearoom. Meanwhile, Ruby is playing a part in the community theater in a play sponsored by 2 town heiresses about their father. The play is dreadful, but Ruby plays up the comic elements and steals the show. When a man ends up dead in connection to the 2 sisters, China becomes suspicious and believes there may be more going on than anyone suspects. Complicating her investigation is the split up between her friend Tough Cookie, the police chief and the sheriff. China's knowledge of herbs and plants plays an important part in the story. While I figured out part of the mystery early, it was still an enjoyable story with great characters.

Unless loved this book. Didn't figure it out until a China had all the clues. Would recommend this book. Looking forward to book 14.
Very interesting
Easy read with novel info about gardening. A favorite author of mine and she never disappoints. No convoluting plots, just simple.
The China Bayles mysteries have so many glimpses of home town life . I really enjoy them. The hints and histories of herbs are so interesting. There are also a few recipies.
just wish I had them in hard back in my library..so I could start over and read the whole series again LOL but you need to start with the first of the series or you get kind of lost..
