I like this book & this author. But for the price of a 1st run paperback, SOMEONE should have edited the Kindle edition. Huff's style switches POV all the time, sometimes between paragraphs. In this edition, no transition marks ever appear, not even a blank line. It's stupid to make the reader backtrack to figure it out. I haven't finished the book yet and I'm already annoyed enough to leave an "I've been cheated" review. $7.99 plus tax. The "EDITOR" did nothing and the AUTHOR said, "Suits me, send the check."

I am not terribly happy with the vampire angle, but this is a good story. Tanya Huff delivers as usual. But the Grove stories are better.
Watched the brief TV show Bloodties based off the books and had to read them for myself. Loved the first, but the second is even better! I mean, who doesn't like werewolves with their vampires and demons?

I'm quite liking this book. Unpretentious storytelling is a rare thing, and that's what Huff does quite well. The story takes you along at a nice pace, with just enough of everything to make it satisfying; nice, heroine, description, and plot. Good dialogue. All in all, I'm impressed enough to read more.
I have to admit that I'm still not 'sold' on this series but I'm still reading. This was improved from the first book but I'm still looking for more emotional pull to keep reading. Fingers crossed that book 3 will prove itself worthy.
